Hi, Welcome to LiveLifeVegan!

My name is Hema Prakash and I’m a Corporate professional turned plant-passionate recipe developer, curator, and a digital marketer.  I am also a wife and a mother of 2 school going kids aged 15 years and 11 years. Through LiveLifeVegan, I wish to share information on how to become fit and healthy by turning a vegan. I will be sharing simple plant-based recipes and wellness tips which will help you unlock vibrancy, health, and happiness.

While in school, I fell in love with cooking under the guidance of my mother. I used to help her whip up a variety of dishes and enjoyed eating them to my heart’s content. As a result, I became a healthy girl who was always overweight since childhood. I tried various diets and exercises to lose weight. Initially, I did lose a few kilos but over a period of time, I gained back all the weight I had lost. I am still overweight and my journey to lose weight continues.

Towards the end of 2019, I read about veganism and discovered its benefits. We completely shifted towards a vegan lifestyle when my 15-year-old daughter was diagnosed with hypothyroid issues. Moving to a plant-based diet along with homeopathy medicines helped her immensely as within a span of 3 months her thyroid readings were back to normal. This incidence gave me immense confidence to follow this diet lifelong to enjoy good health and wellbeing. Veganism also has a bigger purpose as it helps to stop cruelty towards animals and saving the planet from climate change. Also, many people have been able to reverse their illnesses turning a vegan.

Food Philosophy

I am a foodie and used to eat a lot of junk food frequently. Now since I have become a vegan, I have become more conscious of what I eat. I believe in the saying 

“Let food be thy medicine and let medicine be thy food”- Hippocrates

It’s the food that we eat determines whether or not we are able to thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally. When we consciously choose from a wide variety of organic wholesome foods on a regular basis and eat them mindfully, we set the stage for an energetic and vibrant life.

Having said that, healthy eating is not about eating salads and drinking juices all the time. I believe that healthy food should be nourishing and enjoyable too with a wide variety to choose from. I wish to create/curate recipes on LiveLifeVegan with this idea in mind.

I hope you find LiveLifeVegan to be a welcoming and inspiring place to learn about veganism. I strive to develop plant-based recipes that are tasty, flavorful, and colorful.

Balance

Along with food, it is also important to find methods and strategies to improve your physical and mental wellbeing. I try to bring balance in my life either by doing yoga or aerobic exercises. This helps me get rid of anxiety and depression and makes me feel happy, energetic, and more focused.

Why did I start Blogging?

I started blogging with LiveLifeVegan in 2020. Through this blog, I hope to share a lot of information about veganism in the form of articles, recipes, videos. Apart from that, you can also enjoy shopping for unique products from our website. 

I started this blog to educate and help people learn about Veganism as it has immense benefits.  Apart from that, this blog also helps me express my love for cooking by sharing innovative plant-based recipes. I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing them.
